Busted in 26th Place
From the Live Reports at Poker News yesterday:
Catching the action on a 4h 2d 6c flop we found Scott Clark moving all in to force Sam Barnhart out but find a snap-call by La Sengphet. Clark: Ac 8c Sengphet: 2s 2h
With Clark drawing virtually dead, the 6h on the turn would end his tournament forcing him to the rail in 26th place as Sengphet moved to 190,000 in chips.
It is true, this play does not look good on paper. Playing for the National Championship and a WSOP Bracelet, I open shoved into two very tough players with air. I had been a bit card dead for my Day Two and the hand above began with myself UTG+1 with a suspect Ace Eight suited. The thing that amazed me in this tournament was the fact that players actually folded to my preflop raises often. My read was that I had a decent table image, and this table had been pretty tight at this stage of the tournament.
Tunica Main Event Champion Sam Barnhart called. Sam is a good ole boy with a Southern gentleman's charm and he started the day with only 20K in chips. Somehow he had gotten hot at his first table and gathered the chips to put himself back into contention. Barnhart's call was slow and deliberate. I got the feeling he wanted to raise to isolate and changed his mind. I read him as holding AQ or something like Eights or Nines. La Sengphet and her big stack also made the call and we went to the flop.
The flop was a 2 4 6 rainbow and here are my thoughts. I was nearly certain that La did not hold a pair Nines or bigger. She had a big stack and she would have raised preflop to grab position. IF Sam held something like Sevens, Eights, Nines or Tens -- I was in big trouble. My only hope would have been he felt squeezed with La behind him, causing him to fold a better hand (not likely). After Sam had folded, I thought I was going to win this hand, as he was my main concern...
La snap called with a set of Deuces and I was out the door.
La and I had played versus each other during the last table of Day One and it is very easy for me to like her. I friended her up on my Facebook a few months ago and we have a lot of fun with my name being Clark, same as her boyfriend David Clark. She actually afforded me a free look (Queens) after she three-bet my raise allin. My opinion is La has the advantage as being known as "that girl" by too many of the men. Her play doesn't get enough respect. She knows it, I know it -- and the one thing La knows for sure is how to use a big stack and play the role of "I am just a girl with a stack."
La Sengphet is my Sentimental Pick to win today...

New Generation Eee Pad tablet transforms into laptop
The tablet computers that compete with the iPad have mostly been uninspiring. The Eee Pad Transformer stands out with a design that isn't just copied from the iPad: It's a tablet that turns into a laptop.
For $399, $100 less than the cheapest iPad, you get a tablet computer with a 10-inch screen and hardware that doesn't cut corners. It's fully usable on its own. For another $149, you can buy a keyboard that connects to the tablet. Together, they look and open like a small laptop.
The Transformer is made by Asustek Computer Inc., the Taiwanese company that started the brief "netbook" craze a few years ago by selling small, inexpensive laptops. With the keyboard attached, the Transformer is nearly indistinguishable from a netbook.
But before you get too excited about the prospect of a laptop-tablet hybrid that combines the best of both worlds, I have to tell you that you're not getting a Windows laptop in the bargain. The Transformer runs Google Inc.'s Android software, originally designed for smartphones.
That means it doesn't run full-blown Windows programs or connect to peripherals such as scanners. This isn't all a bad thing, as Android comes with important advantages, such as a long battery life, programs designed for touch input and a computer that comes to life almost immediately when you open the lid.
The keyboard may sound a bit expensive for $149, but it does more than help with typing. It has a track pad with "mouse buttons," just as you'd find on a laptop. It also contains an extra battery that charges the tablet's battery, two USB ports for connecting peripherals and a slot for SD memory cards, used in most digital cameras.
I tested the battery life by playing a high-definition video over and over again, with the screen set to medium brightness. I got a respectable nine hours from the tablet alone and 13 hours with the keyboard attached. That compares with 10 hours for the iPad 2.
The screen uses the same technology as the iPad's, making it easy to read from any angle and in any orientation. It is slightly larger than the iPad's and has a slightly higher resolution.
The Transformer has two cameras, as we expect from this year's tablets. The picture quality is so-so but more than adequate for videoconferencing through Google Talk.
Of course, you could get an iPad and an accessory keyboard instead. There are good reasons for doing so - I'll talk more about the software below - but let's stick for the moment to discussing what's good about the Transformer.
The iPad doesn't make any particular accommodation for a keyboard. The accessory ones connect using short-range Bluetooth wireless technology, which can be a hassle to connect and troubleshoot. It also means the keyboards need separate batteries - Apple's own model uses two AAs. The battery in the Asus keyboard doesn't need to be charged for the keyboard to work, and in any case, it uses the same charger as the tablet.
Most iPad keyboards don't attach to the tablet itself, because there's nothing to hang on to. This is fine if you're at a table, but juggling an iPad and a separate keyboard on your lap can be difficult. Some iPad keyboards are built into a case, which covers the tablet and forms a laptop-like unit, though an inelegant one.
The Transformer has two slots for the keyboard to lock into, forming a sturdy whole that's easy to use on a lap or tummy, for those really lazy moments on the couch.
There's another nice thing about the Transformer keyboard: The keys are designed for the software. There are keys that bring you to the Home screen and Settings. Others control screen brightness, volume and media playback. There are buttons for the Back and Menu functions of Google's Android software.
This isn't the first time we've seen small laptops running Android, but it is the first time I've used one that runs Honeycomb, the first Android version specifically designed for tablets rather than smartphones. The update makes Android much better at taking advantage of a 10-inch screen.
But as tablet software, Android is still far behind Apple's iOS software for the iPad. The biggest problem is the low quality and poor selection of applications from outside companies. Many of my favorite iPad apps, including Netflix and The Wall Street Journal are not available at all. Others, such as The New York Times, are available only in inferior versions, designed for the smartphone screen rather than the tablet.
I also had frequent crashes when using the applications. The Transformer is perhaps the best Android tablet out there, especially considering the price, but the software is still a major weakness. Still, the beautifully integrated keyboard should tempt people who don't want to decide between a tablet and a laptop.

National Championship DAY ONE
This is a rambling post about Day One. It is 11:00 PM Las Vegas time, I have some energy left and this was the lineup at my first table:
Seat 1 - Dennis Summers - 2 Allie Prescott - 3 Brian Ali - 4 Gary Friedlander - 5 Jesse Bryant - 6 Jeses Cabrera - 7 Josh Evans - 8 Joel Merwick - 9 Scotty Fucking Clark
My Southwest flight was St. Louis to Omaha, Nebraska, to Las Vegas. When the plane began to board in Omaha, here came Joel Merwick -- an Omaha native. I said hello, but we don't know each other and we never talked at the airport. Fast forward to the next day and would you know it, Joel was seated on my right. My first big pot was versus Merwick. I raised with Queens in a three-way pot. The flop landed K 7 4 and it was checked around. A Queen of Diamonds landed on the turn -- completing any Diamond draw. Joel bet and was called by myself and Brian Ali. A blank landed on the river, Joel led again and I called. Merwick showed a set of Sevens and I took it down with three Queens. A very good check by me on the flop.
I rolled my stack into 32,000 (20K to start) by the end of the second level. I had began to build a great table image, mixing up instances of having the hand at showdown and showing a few big pairs to folds. I also got away with stealing when I tried. Then I made a steal that should have worked but didn't. Read about the hand at Poker News below.
Poker News Live Reporting
Brian Ali picked off my river bluff when I held one pair. It was checked around on the flop and Jesus Cabrera was in position in the hand. I led on the turn representing the flush that got there and was called twice. I bet big on the river, and Ali tanked a long time. Brian hated his call, he was "in the squeeze". Cabrera's demeanor told me he had no call coming, but Ali still called 10K and this let alot of wind out of my sails. After that hand, I just called with AK from the small blind in an uncalled pot to Allie Prescott. He was short-stacked, shoved with Ace rag and I snap called. After the elimination of Prescott, Kyle Cartwright and Dwyte Pilgrim were moved to my table.
Dennis Summer and Gary Friedlander never showed up for the tournament and their chips were picked up after four hours. We played 7 handed for 4 hours and I think the situation was actually advantageous for me. After busting Allie, I doubled up Dwyte Pilgrim in probably the worst call all year. I will write about the hand later, just to prove I am human. Mr Pilgrim should thank me, it was embarrassing...
I was then moved to a different table which included Pete Mavro, Bernard Lee and Brandon Adams on my immediate left. La Sengphet and Allen Kessler were on my right. I am telling you here and now, I watched La simply pummel a table of grown men. It is true, this bitch can play boys (inside joke). I was down to 12K when I raised with As Js and La re-raised from the big blind allin. I folded and she showed me Queens, cause we friends on Facebook LOL. For three hours at this table I lingered between 9K and 20K -- then I doubled through Miss Sengphet. I limped with AK, Pete raised, La called with 66 and I shipped it. La called and the flop came 7 7 T. There was no help on the turn, but I spike the Ace on the river to avoid elimination...
I enter Day Two with 38,600 in chips. Blinds will be 600/1200 and 35 players remain. Fourteen of these players have a shorter stack than I, but I have drawn a very tough table on the re-draw. The chip average is 54,000 and it is anybody's game. The very lovely La Sengphet is the chipleader.

10 Tips To Care Your Bike
1. Keep your tires inflated at the correct pressure. Under inflation causes tire wear and wastes fuel.
2. Do not carry unnecessary weight in your vehicle. Excess weight puts a heavier load on the engine, which increases fuel consumption.
3. Accelerate slowly and smoothly.Get into a higher gear as quickly as possible.
4. Avoid long engine idling. If you have to wait for a long period of time, it is better to turn off the engine and start again later.
5. Avoid stop-and-go driving. Stop-and-go driving wastes fuel.
6. Do not rest your foot on the clutch or brake pedal. This causes needless wear, overheating and poor fuel economy.
7. Keep all wheels in proper alignment. Improper alignment not only causes faster tire wear but also puts an extra load on the engine.
8. Keep your vehicle tuned up and in top shape.
9. Take to the shade rather than keep the air conditioner running.
10. It is a good idea to do a safety check before starting out on a trip. A visit to your dealer can help ensure safe and pleasant driving the whole summer long.

AutoMobile - How To Care My Car
Air conditioning
As air conditioning becomes more common in India, you have yet another fluid level to check. You should run your air conditioning at least once a week, and not just when the weather is hot, to help maintain it.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend servicing air-conditioning systems every two years. A fully functional system brings you several major benefits:
- Ensures that correct temperatures are being reached.
- Reduces pollen and pollution entering your car.
- Saves you money.
- Reduces the amount of chloroflurocarbons (CFCs) in the atmosphere.
- Increases the life of your vehicle's air conditioning system.
- A useful tip in winter is to run the air conditioning to prevent your windscreen misting up.
Air filter
Air filters are inexpensive, but when they get dirty they can reduce your fuel economy by an appreciable amount, and result in a fine for failing a roadside emissions test. Dirty air filters should be replaced or cleaned as soon as possible. It's an easy job to do but check the handbook if you are unsure, or alternatively take it to a garage.
Battery
Most batteries have "maintenance free" stamped on them, and you won't ever have to check the electrolyte level. If your battery is not "maintenance free", you should unscrew the plastic caps and check the level of the liquid inside (electrolyte). If it is low, top it up with distilled water, not tap water. You should also check the condition of the terminals. If they are corroded, take off the wires (negative off first and back on last), clean up with a wire brush and grease with Vaseline or normal grease to prevent corrosion returning. Remember, batteries contain strong acid and you must always be cautious when checking and removing them.
Brakes
For your own safety, it is important to check your brake pads or shoes. These components are made from a heat-resistant friction material, which deteriorates due to being clamped against the disc or pushed against the drum when the brakes are applied. Also check for fluid leaks caused by damaged brake hoses or worn seals which could result in brake failure. A telltale sign that your brake pads are wearing unevenly is that your car will have a tendency to pull to one side when you brake, and you should get them checked.
Clutch
On a hydraulic clutch, fluid ensures the clutch operates smoothly and helps prevent wear and tear. If you feel that under acceleration, the engine revs build up faster than the car is actually accelerating, it may mean your clutch is wearing out. If this happens, get it checked as soon as possible - worn clutches eventually fail which means you will not be able to change gear. So it pays to check your clutch fluid level and ensure it is replaced as recommended by the vehicle handbook. This will help to keep costs down and your car running safely.
The best way to keep the running cost of your car minimal is to maintain your car effectively. Cars do not look after themselves and parts do wear out due to the extreme conditions and pressures they operate within. However, if you carry out regular checks on your car, you can extend the life of certain parts and ensure your car runs reliably. Always ensure you have your car serviced as recommended in the drivers manual. Failure to do so may lead to excessive wear on your vehicle, leading to breakdowns and expensive repairs. Failing to have your car serviced may also mean that parts critical to safety are not checked, which can be dangerous.
Fan belt
If your fan belt starts slipping (you will definitely know when you hear the squeal!), it may not be tensioned properly. At best this could result in your battery going flat through not being recharged, and at worst, it could fail to operate your cooling fan, resulting in serious and expensive damage due to the engine overheating.
Fuel
It may sound obvious, but make sure you have enough fuel before you start a journey. "Breakdowns" caused by people forgetting to do this are surprisingly common. As for the grade of petrol - super unleaded is usually a waste of money and won't improve performance or engine longevity. Normal unleaded petrol will do just fine.
Leaks
If you do notice any leaks, get them checked immediately. With so many different systems in a modern car relying on specialist liquids or lubricants to run properly, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Lights
You should check all your lights and bulbs regularly. As they can sometimes fail in combinations, it's best to ask someone to look at the front and rear while you test them. Check your brake lights and indicators with the headlights on and off, as sometimes a bad earth can cause a fault if both lights are on together. Note: it is illegal to drive with failed or malfunctioning lights. Sometimes you may be dazzled by on coming vehicles at night that appear to be on main beam. Often they are not, it's just the alignment that's incorrect. Make sure yours are adjusted correctly, dazzling headlamps can cause accidents.
Few people realise how important it is to carry spare bulbs, until one fails during a long journey. Fewer still realise that it is compulsory on mainland Europe to carry a complete emergency bulb kit. These are easily bought, stowed in the car and replaced - a small price to pay for peace of mind. Consult the handbook if you are having problems. If the light or lights still do not work after the bulb has been replaced, there may be a fuse fault. Look in the fuse box and find the appropriate fuse; replace it if necessary.
Oil
It's important that your engine is protected by the right amount of oil - too little or too much can cause extensive damage. Check the oil level when the engine is cold, if you check it after the engine has been turning over, the oil may be deposited higher up on the dip stick and give a false reading. Changing your oil regularly removes the harmful dirt and contaminants that cause engine wear, so sticking rigidly to service intervals will prolong the life of major engine components. To ensure the oil remains in good condition, you should also change the oil filter. Some argue it is not quite so important on older higher mileage "bangers", but an annual oil and filter change using branded oil can help. Turbocharged and high-performance cars will benefit from an intermediate oil change at around 4,000 miles using high-grade synthetic oil.
Radiator
Overheating can have disastrous and highly expensive consequences. It is therefore important to check the coolant level when the engine is cold. The coolant is not merely water any more, today's sophisticated multi-valve engines need a correct mix of water and antifreeze with inhibitor to keep the engine cool, and this also protects the internals from corrosion. It's also important to have your hoses checked to ensure there are no leaks.
Steering
Check for "play" on your steering wheel - there shouldn't be much movement without the front wheels turning. If you notice you car is pulling too much to one side or the other, check your steering and wheel alignment. To make certain, please test this on a flat road. Most roads have a slight slope, or camber, towards the kerb, which has the effect of very slightly pulling your car towards the kerb as you are driving along.
Timing belt
The timing belt connects upper and lower engine parts, and is usually hidden from view under a plastic cover. If this belt breaks your car either runs very poorly, or the engine may "seize", causing extensive damage. Check you handbook to find out what the recommended interval is for changing the timing belt, and stick to it!
Tyres
Regularly check your tyre pressures and look for signs of damage to the sidewalls. Worn tyres can be highly dangerous and significantly affect stopping distances. The rules on tyre wear are much tougher now, and it is a good idea to replace tyres when tread depth is around 2mm, just to be on the safe side. Another thing to look out for is even wearing of the tyres. If a tyre is wearing more on one side, you'll need to have your suspension checked. Always try to avoid hitting the kerb while driving. It can be more dangerous than you think, significantly weakening a tyre without showing much damage on the outside. Don't forget to check the spare wheel, not only may you need it at some point, but also it's an offence to carry a spare wheel that's not roadworthy.
Warning signs
Watch for warning lights, note performance changes and listen to your car - any changes or unusual noises are worth having checked before a more serious fault develops.
Windscreen
Always make sure there is enough water in the windscreen washer reservoir and your wiper blades are working properly. You should change your wiper blades every six months, even if they have not been used very often, because the rubber corrodes with exposure to the atmosphere.
We find it's helpful to use a screen wash all year round. In the summer it helps to remove insects, and in winter it can stop the water freezing (check label for appropriate concentrations).
Always check for cracks in the windscreen. If you are not sure, get someone to look at it and advise you.

Playing For The Bracelet...
The WSOP National Championship (learn more here).
I am tied for the chip lead with 99 other players for a WSOP Bracelet. Not just any WSOP Bracelet, a one-of-a-kind bracelet and a piece of WSOP history. This post is not a Ruth-like called shot -- or a Joe Namath guarantee. This is the only guarantee I will make: I am going to Las Vegas with every intention of winning this inaugural event. They say winning is everything, but it isn't about the money for me. Making history would be more important to me than the $300K for first place. Those who know me, know I would be more of a candidate for "infamous" than famous, but this is my chance.
How often does a lump like me have the chance to be famous?
Here is a look at the caliber of players I will be playing against:

Up Next? Jonathan Duhamel
I don't know how I have done it, but I have managed to make friends within the PokerStars press department. Call it my good nature, call me full of shit, you can call me what you like, but the fact remains -- it is I alone who keeps reaching out in the Poker World to land these interviews. I am becoming the Barbara Walters of Poker.
My first interview last May was with David "The Maven" Chicotsky. I figured Dave was an enterprising young man and would be interested in such things. I was right. The way I have it figured, "I have a spotlight" and I can put this spotlight on whomever I choose.
Coming in July. The Duhamel interview will be published in the July issue of Ante Up magazine. This article only became a reality due to some hard work within the PokerStars press department -- and I would like to thank them for that once again.
What was Jonathan like you ask? The man sounded like a Champion to me...

Cheaters Gonna Cheat
This is old news resurfacing as new news. Ali Tekintamgac is a German player who was disqualified from a Partouche Final Table in November 2010, accused of cheating earlier in the event by tournament officials. Tekintamgac was being signaled by phony journalists as to what his opponent's holdings were. Partouche threatened to bring charges vs. Tekintamgac and use casino footage in court, but French authorities have yet to find any wrongdoings in the case. Tekintamgac has filed suit against Partouche for €1.5 million, an amount which represents his possible winnings from the tournament and the damage to his reputation. Above is an example of Tekingtamgac at work...
Ali is also reported to have been banned from a casino in the Czech Republic for pocketing tournament chips and reintroducing them in higher buy-in tournaments, and was recently banned from Holland Casino, also for suspected cheating.
The big question is: Where is Ali today?
Ali is at the Bellagio playing in Day Two of the $25,000 WPT World Championship event with 160K in chips. Daniel Negreanu is keeping everyone updated on his Twitter.
David Williams is the defending champion.

Make Yourself Stick With These First Impression Tips
Law firm internships start in just a few weeks. Part of mypreparation includes re-evaluating the first impression I give to people. Do Icome off as likable? Do I exude professionalism and charm?
The goal of every first impression is to stick to a person’sbrain. You want them to instantly like you and to keep thinking about you hoursor even days after your first met them. Here are few things we can all do gogive a killer first impression.
Dress to impress. You don’twant to walk into an interview looking like a slob. If you look sloppy, peoplewill assume you do sloppy work. Look neat and presentable. Also, dress soyou’ll fit in with the people who are interviewing you. For attorneys thatmeans conservative suits, white shirts, and ties. If your job is more creative, say like a graphic designer, dress so it looks like you’re creative. For greatclothing tips, watch TLC’s What Not To Wear.
Look fit. People are attracted to people in good physicalshape. If you’re out of shape, start heading to the gym everyday for 30 minutesof cardio and strength training. Also, quit eating junk and start eatinghealthy.
Give an impressive handshake. The first handshake is a key part in giving a good first impression.
Focus on speaking. Speakclearly and at a moderate pace. Work on varying your voice intonation. Youdon’t want to come off as a monotone bore. Also, speak the language of theperson interviewing you. Avoid slang and jargon not associated with the jobyou’re interviewing for. Use proper grammar and vocab that reflects a highereducation. If people can’t understand you, it’s hard for them to like you.
Use the person’s name. Usingthe interviewer’s name makes the conversation more personable. It also showsthat you were paying attention during introductions and that the other personwas important enough for you to memorize their name. However, avoid overusing aperson’s name. Too much name use is off putting because it sounds fake and alittle bit creepy.
Let the person know you’re listening. If it looks like you’re not listening, people will be turned off. Give subtlehints that you’re listening such as looking the person in the eye, nodding, andsaying an occasional “I see.” Also , ask questions about what someone had justsaid. It shows you’ve been paying attention and that you want to know moreabout what they’re saying. Finally, don’t interrupt.
Shine the spotlight on the other person. The secret to charm is directing attention away from you and on to the otherperson. Avoid blabbing about yourself and start asking questions about theother person. Great questions to ask in an interview include:
“How did you end up at (name of company)?”
“What drew you to (name of company)?
What do you like most about working at (name of company)?”
You’ll not only get key insights about your potentialemployer, but the questions also require the interviewer to talk aboutthemselves and people love talking about themselves.
What other things can we do to give a good first impression?Drop a comment and add to the conversation.

Going Out Of Business?
As sad as it sounds, Scotty Clark has gone back to work. For nearly four years I have been grinding poker for a living, but all good things come to an end. If I had it all to do over again, maybe I wouldn't have spent $25K traveling the past three years. Maybe I wouldn't have done the charity events or that generous tipping thing. If I wanted to displace some blame, maybe I should blame those goofs downtown for shutting me out for a time. If I accepted some of the blame, maybe I shouldn't have walked off Phil Hellmuth's show, sassed the goofs downtown or spent so much time with my plain Jane. If I wanted to dismiss it as a series of bad breaks, I would cry about the Department of Justice, going O for 9 at WSOP-St. Louis, a huge downswing in December or the destruction of possibly the best poker room in the history of St. Louis. During the month of April, the WSOP was drawing record crowds at Harrah's St. Louis and Pinnacle decided to revamp their rewards program
The effects have been catastrophic; no more online poker and Lumiere Place is dead. To continue playing poker full-time, it will take a big score at the WSOP Circuit National Championship at the end of the month...
I began to train for a sales job with AT&T and just completed my training yesterday. AT&T is now delivering its service through new fiber optic lines. AT&T wireless high-speed internet surfs a dedicated line, not a shared broadband. AT&T’s U-verse allows you to record up to 4 shows at a time on a single DVR and storms never affect your connection. Sitting On Pins and Needles
The WSOP Circuit is at Harrah's New Orleans and the chase for the WSOP Circuit National Championship is winding down. The big question remains...
"What are my chances?"
At the time of this post, I remain in 24th place for one of the 34 at-large berths.
New Orleans has completed two Ring Events. Tuesday and today's events drew 312 and 423 participants respectively and results are forthcoming. New Orleans is one of the four Regional Championship stops on the 15 stop WSOP Circuit Final Table participants gain automatic entry into the 100 player National Championship. Only Ring Events count in the race and there are eight Ring Events yet to play out in New Orleans -- including the $1600 Main Event, in addition to the Regional Championship.
Cliffnotes: Read more about the WSOP Circuit National Championship here
These 53 players are listed as having qualified for the National Championship.
During this stop in New Orleans, 11 players may qualify. Let's do the math.
53 players have qualified + N.O. Main Event winner + N.O. Casino Champion +
9 players who appear at the Regional Championship Final Table = 64 players
64 players plus 34 at-large players = only 98 players will qualify ?
This is what has happened, Kyle Cartwright qualified twice by virtue of being the Tunica Casino Champion AND the Main Event winner in St. Louis. Palm Beach Main Event Champion John Riordan is under the age of 21. Riordan won his title at the Palm Beach Kennel Club and the legal gambling age requirement there is 18 years old. While Riordan can play in Florida, he can not play in Las Vegas.
These two circumstances have created two additional at-large berths...
The WSOP has not commented on this matter yet, so you kind of heard it here first.
I have been watching that leader board like a hawk since I finished fifth in the very first event on the circuit this year. As I see it, and in my opinion, 13 players will have to pass me in New Orleans for one of 36 (not 34) at-large WSOP Circuit National Championship berths. I estimate I am a 92% or better favorite to make it.

50 Common Interview Questions and Answers :
Review these typical interviewquestions and think about how you would answer them. Read the questions listed;you will also find some strategy suggestions with it.
1. Tell me about yourself:
The most often asked question ininterviews. You need to have a short statement prepared in your mind. Becareful that it does not sound rehearsed. Limit it to work-related items unlessinstructed otherwise. Talk about things you have done and jobs you have heldthat relate to the position you are interviewing for. Start with the itemfarthest back and work up to the present.
2. Why did you leave your last job?
Stay positive regardless of thecircumstances. Never refer to a major problem with management and never speakill of supervisors, co- workers or the organization. If you do, you will be theone looking bad. Keep smiling and talk about leaving for a positive reason suchas an opportunity, a chance to do something special or other forward- looking reasons.
3. What experience do you have inthis field?
Speak about specifics that relateto the position you are applying for. If you do not have specific experience, get as close as you can.
4. Do you consider yourselfsuccessful?
You should always answer yes andbriefly explain why. A good explanation is that you have set goals, and youhave met some and are on track to achieve the others.
5. What do co-workers say about you?
Be prepared with a quote or twofrom co-workers. Either a specific statement or a paraphrase will work. JillClark, a co-worker at Smith Company, always said I was the hardest workers shehad ever known. It is as powerful as Jill having said it at the interviewherself.
6. What do you know about thisorganization?
This question is one reason to dosome research on the organization before the interview. Find out where theyhave been and where they are going. What are the current issues and who are themajor players?
7. What have you done to improveyour knowledge in the last year?
Try to include improvementactivities that relate to the job. A wide variety of activities can bementioned as positive self-improvement. Have some good ones handy to mention.
8. Are you applying for other jobs?
Be honest but do not spend a lot oftime in this area. Keep the focus on this job and what you can do for thisorganization. Anything else is a distraction.
9. Why do you want to work for thisorganization?
This may take some thought andcertainly, should be based on the research you have done on the organization.Sincerity is extremely important here and will easily be sensed. Relate it toyour long-term career goals.

A loaded question. A nasty littlegame that you will probably lose if you answer first. So, do not answer it.Instead, say something like, That's a tough question. This is serious. Do not make lightof it or in any way seem like you like to fire people. At the same time, youwill do it when it is the right thing to do. 15. What is your philosophy towardswork?
The interviewer is not looking fora long or flowery dissertation here. Do you have strong feelings that the jobgets done? Yes. That's the type of answer that works best here. Short andpositive, showing a benefit to the organization.

This is a straight loyalty anddedication question. Do not worry about the deep ethical and philosophicalimplications. Just say yes.

Some of themore common labels, like progressive, salesman or consensus, can have severalmeanings or descriptions depending on which management expert you listen to.The situational style is safe, because it says you will manage according to thesituation, instead of one size fits all.
39. What have you learned frommistakes on the job?
Here you have to come up withsomething or you strain credibility. Make it small, well intentioned mistakewith a positive lesson learned. An example would be working too far ahead ofcolleagues on a project and thus throwing coordination off.
40. Do you have any blind spots?
Trick question. If you know aboutblind spots, they are no longer blind spots. Do not reveal any personal areasof concern here. Let them do their own discovery on your bad points. Do nothand it to them.
